Teen Code 101: Working
Everyone has to follow rules whether you are at school, church, work, or just out in the streets. Today, we are going to use work for an example of a set of rules; because, everyone has responsibilities at work. It is hard to follow rules as a teenager because they are everywhere we go. The hardest rules to follow are the ones at work. Peer pressure, dress code and accepting authority from younger adults make it difficult to follow the rules set forth to us. However, rules are put in place to discipline us in the work place. The following rules are a part of the Teen Code while on the job.
Stay Professional
No HandoutsIf you work in retail do not give out free merchandise. Eventually, you will get caught and FIRED!!!!!!!

Dress CodePeople are watching you and paying attention to your appearance. Keep your uniform neat and clean. This means iron your clothes and replace them if they become worn.

Positive AttitudeCustomer service is important on your job. Keep outside issues at home. Do not spread your negativity around the work place.

Just Say NO!Do not come to work on any type of control substance (drugs/alcohol). Matter of a fact, DO NOT DO DRUGS AT ALL!

Be on TimeBe prompt, present and on time for work. Being on time shows that you are dependable and responsible. Many employers will fire you if you are late to work more than twice. They also value employees that are on time. This means you maybe promoted sooner than your friends!

Good HygieneNo one wants to buy products from you if you look unclean. So these following items must be maintain when you have a job:

No StealingDo not take things that do not belong to you. This means you can not take a case of hamburgers home for your birthday party. When the new Jordan's are released, do not hide a pair and leave with them after closing.
